Having begun our exploration into the Islamic State, your job is to deepen the inquiry through research and to apply IR concepts to demonstrate your understanding of the conflict's origins and typology.
You have a lot of freedom to choose exactly how you will demonstrate your understanding. Options can include making a video, large poster, a complex mind map, a digital story, a prezi, a pamphlet or something else of your choosing. What I do not want are PPTs given that we will not have time for in-class presentations (however, if you wanted to turn one into a video with voice-over, that would be cool). Ultimately, it needs to be something that is presented on your website.
Project Criteria: Pay close attention and use this list as a checklist
Your project will be due on Tuesday, October 21

Project Criteria: Pay close attention and use this list as a checklist
- It must explain the historical rise of ISIS at least from the beginning of the 2003 Iraq War.
- It must explain the main actors and events in the conflict (a brief overview is fine)
- It must explain what life is currently like in the Islamic State for supporters and opponents, men and women, and why the Islamic State has some popular support.
- It must contain a clear argument as to which of the ten causes of terrorism best explain its origins and which of the six types of conflict (ideas/interests) the war represents. Of course, your argument must be defended by specific, relevant, accurate, and cited evidence
- The project must be well-organized and visually attractive
- Your research must draw on at least four sources, which must be clearly cited.
